Media Release: #ComradesCentenaryHopeChallenge Medal Unveiled

The #ComradesCentenaryHopeChallenge medal has arrived! Finishers in the Challenge will receive a beautiful gold and black medal, complete with a distance bar to denote the mileage done, be it the 5km, 10km, 21.1km, 45km or 90km distance.

The CMA unveiled the medal earlier this week to rave reviews from runners around the world.

Resembling the golden era of hope after the onset of Covid-19, this gleaming medal is designed with Comrades and recreational runners in mind.

Using highly specialized plating and polishing techniques, the medal has been created using a unique 2-tone style in matt black and gold. Measuring 87.55mm x 80mm x 4mm, it comes complete with a 25mm yellow and black trilobal satin ribbon denoting the name of this year’s virtual event, the Comrades Centenary Hope Challenge as well as the outstanding logo design.

The medal itself includes the various facets of the virtual aspect of the Comrades, encapsulating the Comrades logo, the 100 years of The Ultimate Human Race and gold and black colours of Comrades.

Runners from all corners of the world will don this medal proudly in line with the achievement that comes after participating in this year’s Comrades Centenary Hope Challenge.

Nearly 3900 participants have entered the virtual event so far. The entry breakdown is as follows:
